Kids Days Out In Portsmouth

About Portsmouth - Portsmouth also known as Pompey, is home to three hugely important historic ships, HMS Victory, HMS Warrior Mary Rose, These are all housed at the Historic Dockyard, home of the Royal Navy and also home to the worlds first dry dock. Charles Dickens was born in Portsmouth, and Isambard Kingdom Brunel, the pioneering engineer was also born here.

Shopping - The Albert Road shopping area, located in central Southsea, has an interesting mix of shops, restaurants and pubs. There are none of the traditional and chain retail outlets, the shops are all run by independent traders and this helps give the area its unique atmosphere and feel. If you're happier with what has now become the norm, then visit The Cascades Shopping Centre which is situated in the City's centre.

Things to do and days out - Take a walk around the city and you'll notice a striking contrast of old and new. HMS Warrior 1860 stands within a mile of Portsmouth's newest landmark, the Spinnaker Tower. Portsmouth is home to no less than 12 museums covering all aspects of Portsmouth's past as well as the award winning shopping and leisure complex Gunwharf Quays. Kids don't miss out either. With popular attractions such as the Pyramids Fun Pools, Blue Reef Aquarium.
