The Food Museum, Stowmarket

A great place for a family outing!

The Food Museum a 75 acre, open-air Museum located in the heart of Stowmarket. With historic buildings, green open space and a programme packed with events and activities for families to enjoy, there are loads of things to do.

With 17 splendidly restored buildings to explore, including a watermill and Victorian Tin Tabernacle. We've got animals to visit, family trails that take you around the museum and play areas for children to enjoy, you'll never be short of something to do.

Families can enjoy the benefits of open, safe, green space where they can walk, play and explore together. Meet the animals, discover nature and learn something new with every visit.

Events include the annual Steam and Crafts Weekend, Bonfire Night Celebrations and activities in the school holidays such as the summer 'Mud, Bugs and Baking.' Little ones can enjoy our weekly 'Toddler Time' featuring activities such as the Welly Walk, Toddler Yoga and Tadpole Tunes.

2015 sees the launch of the 'My Museum' photography competition for Museum Visitors to enter during the season. Using stunning Suffolk countryside, heritage landscape and wildlife as inspiration for one of our competition categories.

For budding photographers, the Young Photographer categories (0-11 and 12-18), will allow for younger visitors to also take part in a competition that all the family can enjoy
