Brighton is known as the "City by the Sea" for good reason. From the moment you arrive, the seaside vibe is evident, from the seagulls overhead, the salty sea air, to the barrage of cafes, restaurants, fish and chip shops, clubs and bars. Brighton is home to plethora of street art, a wide range of interesting museums and plenty for all to enjoy. Whether you want to experience regal architecture, rollercoaster rides, candyfloss or a dip in the sea there is something for everyone to do and see in this vibrant bohemian town.

Located only an hour south of London by train, Brighton has always been a popular day-trip destination. People have flocked to Brighton for years in search of its wide shingle beaches and exciting seafront, which was first opened in 1899. The seafront is now home to a selection of fun rides, food kiosks, fun photo boards and of course the traditional seaside arcade, because we all love a 2p machine when we visit the sea side!

The centre of Brighton also offers a great selection of activities which are perfect for a great Kids Day Out. Children will love riding on the historic Volks Railway which runs parallel to the sea. Even on rainy days there are plenty of amazing and engaging places to visit. We love the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery which really reflects Brightons love of art and culture.

A highlight of any family trip to Brighton is a visit to the Royal Pavilion, also known as Brighton Pavilion. Built as a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV, the Pavilion showcases a range of Indian and Chinese influences mixed with the typical Regency Grandeur seen throughout Brighton. It is certainly worth taking a short stroll through the town to find this exotic palace.

After a fantastic tour around the Brighton Pavilion, the Kids Days Out team highly recommend heading to Boho Gelato for one of their amazing ice creams, we loved sea salt caramel!
