The Deep, Hull


Join in a touchpool session & meet smaller animals native to UK shores such as starfish and sea urchins (every half past the hour between 10.30am - 4.30pm). Watch the divers feed and maintain animals during the daily dive show (at Endless Ocean Monday, Wednesday & Friday with maintenance dives Tuesday & Thursday, Lagoon of Light Saturday and Amazon Flooded Forest on Sunday). See the penguins being fed each day at 11:30am & 3:30pm. Finally walk through our underwater tunnel before taking a ride in our glass lift through the 10m Endless Oceans exhibit. Keep your eyes peeled for a sneak peek behind the scenes!
ACCESSIBILITY - The Deep is fully accessible for people with disabilities, with gently sloped walkways throughout. Mobility aids & wheelchairs are also available free of charge should they be required. FACILITIES - The Deep has its own café serving a range of homemade hot/cold meals, snacks and drinks. In peak times, a snack bar serving light bites is available halfway round the attraction. We also offer indoor and outdoor picnic areas for those who wish to bring their own food.
BUY YOUR TICKETS ONLINE - Save 10% by booking your tickets online at before you visit. All you need to do is bring the confirmation number with you, and this will be exchanged for your tickets. The Deep also accepts Tesco Days Out vouchers, which form part of the Tesco Clubcard scheme. EXPERIENCE DAYS - DEEP EXPERIENCE Various dates available The Deep 1 to 1 Experience is a morning with a difference for those with a love of the marine world. Get hands on and help The Deep crew with a series of day to day activities as well as seeing behind the scenes. Experience days are ideal for youngsters with a passion for the marine world or those looking at getting into a Marine Biology career, but are also perfect for adults with an interest in aquaria. The Deep Experience is suitable for participants aged 8 and above. Exact details are dependent on participant age. Find out more
JUNIOR EXPERIENCE DAYS 27 March, 7 August, 29 August and 24 November 2018 Is your child aged between 8-11 with a passion for marine animals? Then join us for a fun-filled experience day where your youngster can help carry out some of The Deep's daily activities. Your child will be part of a group of up to 8 children, who will spend the morning with a member of The Deep's crew, allowing them to get hands on within the attraction. Activities will include: Seeing behind the scenes of our river turtle display and Discovery Corner plant room Taking part in a nori feed at the Lagoon Cleaning the exhibit acrylic Taking part in a slime workshop and touch pool session Invertebrate handling Question time with a guide Trying on a dive kit and watching the dive show Experiences start at 8:30am and finish at 2:30pm. Places cost £32.50 per child, full payment is required at time of booking. Spaces are limited. Please note: adults are not required to accompany children on the day. Puzzling Penguins (10 to 25 February) It’s time for penguin fun at The Deep this February half term. Follow the penguin trail and find out more about what our loveable residents get up to. Make your own penguin ID bracelet, just like ours wear and hear all about what our special bracelet codes mean. Plus don’t forget, there will be talks, dive shows, touch pool sessions, daily feeds and more!
Easter Holidays - Egg-cellent Fun! (24 March to 15 April) Spring has sprung at Hull’s award-winning aquarium The Deep, and it’s time to learn about new life in the oceans. Hear about the different eggs laid by some of our most popular residents, including sharks, turtles and penguins. Plus take part in our fun-filled family crafts and an activity trail.
May Half Term - Love Your Aquarium (26 May to 3 June) It’s Love Your Zoo and Aquarium week across the UK, and here at The Deep, we want to tell you all the great reasons that you should love your local attraction. From conservation to events in the community, there is far more to The Deep than meets the eye. So head on down this May half term and help our experts discover what animals are living right here on our doorstep in our daily pond dipping sessions. All equipment will be provided. Details on how to book your place will be available shortly.
