Corris Mine Explorers

Explore an Abandoned Welsh Slate Mine

It's like a virtual time capsule with 130 years of mining history captured inside. The Braich Goch mine was first worked in 1836 and abandoned by the miners in the 1970s. Our trips take you back into the tough working lives of the miners with actual stories of mining life which unfold in such a way you can almost feel the mine creaking back to life. Our trips can be largely tailored to be historic or adventurous and always 100% authentic and fun.

Choose from 3 trips: 1 hour Taster Trip min. age 8), 2 hour Mine Explorers Trip (min. age 10) and a Half Day Mine Expedition (min. age 13).
