Kids Days Out In Ayrshire and Arran
Ayrshire has the coast, the castles and a decent run of indoor play, which between them cover almost any forecast. It is also an easy day out from Glasgow.
We list 21 attractions across the county. Dean Castle Country Park at Kilmarnock is free and has the grounds for an afternoon, Kidz Play and Pirate Pete's handle the under-eights, and Newmilns has dry slope skiing and snowboarding for the older ones.
The Ayrshire coast is on the train line from Glasgow, so Troon, Ayr and Largs are all doable without a car.
