Clifton Park and Museum, Rotherham

Clifton Park is one of the better free days out in South Yorkshire, built around a large play area and a seasonal splash park with motion triggered spray jets, a paddling pool and a play stream. Alongside the playground there is a miniature railway, seasonal fairground rides including rollercoasters and bumper cars, an arcade and crazy golf. The museum, housed in a Georgian mansion in the park, covers local history from geology through to the steel industry with interactive exhibits. Entry to the park is free, with charges for the fair and mini golf.
