Kids Days Out In Caithness

Caithness is the far north east corner of the mainland, and the days out here are about landscape and wildlife rather than rides and queues. Children who like being outdoors do very well out of it.

We list 5 attractions in the area. The John O'Groats ferry runs across to Orkney and past the seabird cliffs, RSPB Forsinard covers the Flow Country peatland, and the Dunbeath Heritage Centre is the small indoor stop for a wet hour.

You will need a car, and distances up here are longer than they look. Check the ferry timetable before you commit to a day.
