Delapré Abbey

Delapré Abbey is Northampton's hidden treasure, located just a mile or so from the town centre. Surrounded by beautiful parkland, this exceptional attraction is a perfect day out for all. The Abbey is open 6 days a week and children can experience it all for free.

As a visitor of this unique building, you'll experience tales of the Abbey told across five storytelling zones, you'll investigate unexpected views and strange doorways and be free to play with the classic have-a-go games. From snakes and ladders in the library to medieval costumes in the battlefield rooms there is no shortage of exciting elements for children to get stuck in to.

The Abbey has been designed to be engaging for visitors of all ages and we welcome families with the hands-on, interactive displays. You can learn about the history of the building and its many eccentric characters, enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the gardens and enjoy freshly prepared food and refreshments in our Orangery café.
