The Deep aims to create a deeper understanding and enjoyment of the ocean through stunning marine life, interactive displays and presentations. Fully accessible to all, we ensure that everyone can enjoy their time at The Deep!
Following the recent update from the Government, as of 27 January, there is no longer a legal requirement to wear a face covering whilst in the attraction. However, the Government recommends wearing them in indoor spaces. For more information see Gov.uk Disposable masks are available from reception for 50p.
The Deep is open daily from 9am until 6pm on weekends, bank holidays and during school holidays. We are open 10am until 6pm Monday to Friday during term time
Last admission is at 5pm
We are closed on Christmas Eve & Christmas Day
All visitors are required to book a time slot for their visit to The Deep. This is to help us manage the number of people in the building, please follow directional signage and look out for floor markers when queuing to enter The Deep.
ACCESSIBILITY - The Deep is fully accessible for people with disabilities, with gently sloped walkways throughout. Mobility aids & wheelchairs are also available free of charge should they be required. We also have a CHANGING PLACES facility. FACILITIES - The Deep has its own café serving a range of homemade hot/cold meals, snacks and drinks. In peak times, a snack bar serving light bites is available halfway round the attraction. We also offer indoor and outdoor picnic areas for those who wish to bring their own food. BUY YOUR TICKETS ONLINE - book your tickets online at www.thedeep.co.uk before you visit. All you need to do is bring the confirmation number with you, and this will be exchanged for your tickets. The Deep also accepts Tesco Days Out vouchers, which form part of the Tesco Clubcard scheme. Don’t forget to sign up to the Day Plus Pass scheme which allows FREE return visits to The Deep for 12 months. This is included in the normal price of a ticket. TRANQUIL TUESDAYS (term time only) Join us for Tranquil Tuesdays. From 3pm until closing the lights will be brighter and the audio turned down, creating a tranquil environment for our visitors. This event is perfect for those who prefer to visit during a quieter and more peaceful environment. Everyone is welcome to attend. Normal admission rates apply and there is no need to book. We have a range of aids available to hire free of charge for visitors with access needs including ear defenders, Braille guides, large print guides, MP3 audio guides, international language leaflets, rollators, electric mobility scooters and wheelchairs.
