Trentham Monkey Forest, Stoke-on-Trent

Monkey Forest is sixty acres of woodland at Trentham where around 140 Barbary macaques live free roaming, and visitors walk a path straight through the enclosure among them. The site describes itself as the largest primate habitat in the UK and the only one of its kind here. Keeper talks and feeding sessions run through the day and are worth timing your visit around. One practical note: the site advises drivers to use a different sat nav postcode from the postal one, because the postal address misdirects cars.
