Kids Days Out In Caernarfon
Caernarfon is dominated by its castle, and Caernarfon Castle is among the most impressive in Britain: polygonal towers, wall passages and a complete curtain wall you can walk. The Welsh Highland Railway runs narrow gauge steam trains from the town into Snowdonia, towards Beddgelert, Rhyd Ddu or all the way to Porthmadog, and the shorter trips suit young children. Segontium Roman fort on the edge of town is free to walk around. The harbour, the town walls and the Menai Strait make an easy afternoon on foot.
