Nottinghamshire trades heavily on Sherwood Forest, and rightly so, but the county has more going on than the Robin Hood story suggests. Nottingham itself has the caves, the museums and enough indoor play to cover a wet half term.

Sherwood is busiest at weekends in summer and during the Robin Hood Festival. Weekday mornings in term time are a different experience entirely.
