Gateshead
Gateshead sits across the Tyne from Newcastle, so a family day here can easily take in both sides of the river. Treetop Adventure Golf at the Metrocentre gives you indoor mini golf on jungle themed courses, and Battlezone Laser covers laser tag for older children. The quayside is the outdoor draw, with the Millennium Bridge to walk across and the Baltic art gallery, which is free to enter and has a viewing floor looking back over the water. Between the shops, the bridges and the quayside there is enough for a full day.
