Kids Days Out In Llangollen

Llangollen sits in the Dee valley and is one of the most rewarding small towns in Wales for a family day. Llangollen Railway runs steam trains along the river, and the horse drawn canal boats from Llangollen Wharf are unhurried and genuinely lovely with young children. The more adventurous option is the boat trip across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a canal carried on stone piers high above the valley. The town itself has riverside paths, the chain bridge and plenty of places to stop for lunch.
