Kids Days Out In Newport
Newport sits on the Usk in south east Wales and has a couple of things children genuinely remember. The Newport Ship is the standout, a fifteenth century merchant vessel found in the river mud and now being conserved in public view, which is unusual and better than it sounds. The Transporter Bridge is the other landmark, a rare gondola bridge across the river. Newport Wetlands on the Severn estuary gives boardwalks, hides and open sky, and Tredegar House on the edge of the city has parkland and a lake to walk round.
