Kids Days Out In Tyne and Wear
Tyne and Wear is small on the map and generous in what it offers. Newcastle and Sunderland between them cover the museums, the quaysides and the beaches, and the North East Land, Sea and Air Museum is the one that tends to surprise visiting families.
We list 14 attractions across the area, which is one of our shortest county lists and something we are working on. Ouseburn Farm in Newcastle is free and genuinely good for under-sevens.
The Metro makes almost all of this doable without a car, including the run out to the coast at Tynemouth and Whitley Bay.
