About Harrogate - Harrogate is a pleasant spa town to the south-east of the Yorkshire Dales, famous for its tea shops, flower shows, turkish baths, antique shops, and the Harrogate International Conference Centre. The town is also famous for its associations with the great English crime novelist Agatha Christie, who "disappeared" here for a few days in the 1930s !

Shopping - Elegant cosmopolitan Harrogate has a great mixture of wonderful shopping. The bustling town centre from West Park, James Street and the Montpellier Quarter to the Westminster Arcade and Victoria Shopping Centre has designer shops, familiar names and arts & crafts. 

Things to do and days out - Visit the Mercer Art Gallery, across the road from the Royal Pump Room Museum, to discover an exciting programme of exhibitions from local artists to national touring shows to works from Harrogate's fine art collection. Visit nearby Knaresborough Castle where you can discover 800 years of royal history. See the King's Chamber, the dank dungeon and scurry through the underground secret tunnel.
